The carousel near the Eiffel Tower. I hated the Eiffel Tower surroundings,
there were so many tourists there who came to Paris just to get their picture
taken in front of it. But the carousel was magical! I didn't ride on it, though, as I'm
a little old for that...

This is one of my favorite photographs. Taken on a lovely street in Quartier Latin, full of little food shops, bakeries and color. I wish I could transfer all the smells to you...
The Picasso Museum. He's one of my least favorite artists and so I found the building much more fascinating than his works! Those colored windows were beautiful and it had that peculiar mirror outside, that made you look like a figure who step out of his paintings. Just genius!...
A vegetarian restaurant in Monmarte. There where only three tables inside...

This very famous fountain next to Centre Pompidou. Does anyone knows how it is called because I always forget the name?
A beautiful dress in the Opera again. I took so many pictures there.

Canal St. Martin. The place where Amelie threw stones to relax herself and probably the most interesting and lively place in Paris nowadays! You can find lots of young parisians there wearing quirky outfits, drinking cocktails in plastic glasses and listening to awesome street bands who play there for free

Abandoned marionettes in front of Centre Pompidou.
Someone really cruel left them alone
eating a pastry from heaven's place on earth, also known as Laduree!
I was on a kind of a macaron diet in Paris. I still am actually as I brought
plenty of them home...
First post about Paris, more to be expected within the next weeks! I'm back home now but my mind still wanders around the city of light...
I hope you had a good time too...
Au revoir!
your pictures just gave me goosebumps. how lucky you are! i miss paris terribly. your pictures took me back there for a slight second. thank you for that.

This is a gorgeous post - oh, how I long to be there! All your pictures remind me of Rilke: "For Paris has enough for everybody (so there is no reason for not being there)-ah! It has too much for each one of us... I need everything that Paris is." xx

My, I love the photo of the marionettes.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful :-)
I loved your pictures of Paris. Excellent photography. I went to Paris and loved the place but when I look at my pictures I some how feel disappointed as my pictures didnt really capture the essence of paris. You have done a great job capturing the essence. Well done
ReplyDeleteYou're never too old to ride carousels! I rode the one at le Sacré-Coeur, it was drizzling outside and a fog surrounded the hill while Yann Tiersen played in the background and wow, it was magical.
ReplyDeleteI remember Au Grain De Folie in Montmarte! Delish. Can't believe you didnt have a ride on the carousel, being the romantic you are!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos of Paris. We had a wonderful time there. What a magical place!
