beauty fades

gone are the days of rainbows

Berlin was like wearing warm clothes the whole time, feeling the cold wind against your cheeks, seeing countless of bare trees with fairy lights on them, visiting every christmas market that was on your way, sharing pink cigarettes. Berlin was like eating crepes in Kreuzberg and lingering at the beautiful people passing by. Berlin was like being in a metro station after hours and singing along with two street musicians bob dylan songs... and falling in love.

I miss these...

(Photo taken by me. Unfortunately, I don't have much time post more pictures. If you're interested, though, to see more of my work from berlin visit my flickr photostream)

Merry Christmas dear friends

Ah we're lonely, we're romantic

People usually ignore the strange and the unusual.
I am myself strange and unusual...

I miss the smell of rain. I wish for pink cigarettes. I dream of pumpkin lanterns

And what if the moon wasn't earth's satellite but a huge shiny ball that a little man had to hang on the sky. And what if someone killed that little man?

A small list of films I'd like to watch

''Sherlock Jr.'' by Buster Keaton
''The Red Shoes''
''Days of Heaven'' by Terrence Mallick
''La Jete'' by Chris Marker
''Orpheas'' by Jean Cocteau
''The Reflecting Skin'' by Phillip Ridley
''The Long Day Closes'' by Terence Davies
''Alphaville'' by Jean Luc Goddard
''In the Company of Wolves'' by Neil Jordan

Any other suggestions are very welcome

My dream trip is a trip to the Antarctic.
That place is the dreamiest...

''Winter dreams the same dream
every time
You can never hold back spring
even though you've lost your way...''

Everybody has a world of their own. Mine is full secrets and rain and dust, full of hats and small cafes, full of mystery and love.

What's yours like?

And this is me, sad-eyed

(All photos are taken by me. They look extremely bad on blogspot though)

Color my life with chaos of trouble...

Updating the blog, finally! God, I haven't been around here for such a long time... Really my life is pretty miserable these days, I do nothing but studying, or trying to study. My mind is filled with numbers and physics, and I'm not even sure if  I really want to get into architecture. I feel tired and weak and confused and I fear that in couple of months I'll feel nothing, that I wont be able see what's beautiful and what's not, I fear that I'll become one of those people I always hated. People, with no interests, personality and ideas... Oh, you damned greek educational system, you're going to turn me into a freak!

So I'm relatively uninspired these days but I thought it would be cool to share some of my current favorite things and people.
I can't stop liking: Jan Svankmayer's and Michel Gondry's short films, coffee (I officially drink two cups every day!), the fact that I no longer smoke- not that I smoked a lot in the past but I pretty liked it, drawing in ink, Joseph Gordon Levitt (just watch 500 days of summer and you'll understand, german expressionism, the replacements and basically every post-punk, 80s alternative band...

I'm also going to Berlin in December with school, probably, if we get a permission (swine flu!)
I soooooo hope that we go because traveling and photography the only things that make me truly happy...
I hope you're all well and happy and I'm really sorry that I haven't been checking your blogs. And also, a huge thank you to all the people who followed and commented on blog. Even if I haven't commented back, I want you to know that I really appreciate your support!

P.s: Photos are all taken by me. they're very old though and shot in film. I use almost exclusively film now...
P.s 2: I promise I'll post photos from berlin here, if I finally go there!

What she found and saw in Paris, Part 2

First of all, I'm so very sorry for my long absence. This blog hasn't been updated for almost a  month and it's not because I'm running out of things to say and share. It's just the fact that too many things have been bothering my mind the last few weeks so I wasn't really in the mood of posting something here or visiting other blogs. The truth is that this post will probably be last one for a couple of months or so. I'll be on holiday in August and when I return, I must throw myself into my studies and that's a really hard but also really essential thing for me to do, so as to get into university.
Anyways, let's move on to more enjoyable and appealing stuff. As I promised on my previous post, more photos from the city of light:

I'm sure you'll wonder what is this. This my dear friends is a tiny little theatre I accidentally discovered, when wandering around Monmarte. I also met the actor and got photographed with them but unfortunately the photo turned out really blurry. Urgghhh mama...

...and this is the inside of the theatre.
A small stage, shiny curtains, colorful lighting and only six seats!

'' There's a city in my mind
come along and take that ride''

That was all, it's very little, very very little I know. I hope you understand and I also promise that I'll try to post here once in a while, maybe more regular than that, maybe once in a month or two. But be sure that'll drop by and check out your blogs because they're always so inspirational...

Au revoir dearies

What she found and saw in Paris, Part 1

The carousel near the Eiffel Tower. I hated the Eiffel Tower surroundings,
there were so many tourists there who came to Paris just to get their picture
taken in front of it. But the carousel was magical! I didn't ride on it, though, as I'm
a little old for that...

This is one of my favorite photographs. Taken on a lovely street in Quartier Latin, full of little food shops, bakeries and color. I wish I could transfer all the smells to you...

Inside the Opera. I call it '' The Magic Mirror''

Some chairs in Napoleon's apartments...

The Picasso Museum. He's one of my least favorite artists and so I found the building much more fascinating than his works! Those colored windows were beautiful and it had that peculiar mirror outside, that made you look like a figure who step out of his paintings. Just genius!...

A vegetarian restaurant in Monmarte. There where only three tables inside...

This very famous fountain next to Centre Pompidou. Does anyone knows how it is called because I always forget the name?

A beautiful dress in the Opera again. I took so many pictures there.

Canal St. Martin. The place where Amelie threw stones to relax herself and probably the most interesting and lively place in Paris nowadays! You can find lots of young parisians there wearing quirky outfits, drinking cocktails in plastic glasses and listening to awesome street bands who play there for free

Abandoned marionettes in front of Centre Pompidou.
Someone really cruel left them alone

Flowers, lots of flowers.

...and me

eating a pastry from heaven's place on earth, also known as Laduree!
I was on a kind of a macaron diet in Paris. I still am actually as I brought
plenty of them home...

First post about Paris, more to be expected within the next weeks! I'm back home now but my  mind still wanders around the city of light...
I hope you had a good time too...

Au revoir!
